Recruitment
The Recruitment Process
Through our current recruitment drive, we have broken the process down into three distinct sections:
- INITIAL INTERVIEW: As this is the first time candidates will meet the team, this stage gives the opportunity to ask those all important initial questions, pick up corporate literature and generally get a feel for the ethos of Scotia Corporation Ltd. From our perspective, we will be able to assess the communication skills of interviewees, as well as finding out more about their ambitions, motivations and reasons for applying. Candidates will be asked to produce a CV and complete an application form to give us a clearer outline of your skills and strengths.
- EVALUATION/SHADOWING DAY: If successful through the first round, candidates will be invited back for an afternoon to experience the day-to-day aspects of our company. Individuals are placed with experienced mentors from our Business Development Programme, which allows a much more informal discussion about the opportunities we have available. Candidates will be assessed on their communication skills, their enthusiasm and how quickly they pick up information given to them. Having seen everything for themselves, candidates will be able to assess their own suitability for our business before committing to starting with us. Each mentor is provided with a list of questions to ask candidates, as well as completing their own feedback section on individuals. As this stage is the most revealing for both parties, it is by far the most time consuming and lasts between 4 and 7 hours, depending on other commitments and ambition.
- FINAL INTERVIEW: The last stage of the recruitment process is a fairly short final interview which allows candidates to give feedback on their recruitment experience and a last chance to “sell themselves” to the Management. Any further questions or topics will be covered and in most cases, a decision will be made at this stage as to whether a candidate is accepted to start with us.
